In order to fix any issue, one must first understand its nature. Hair transplants are an excellent solution for getting rid of hair loss permanently but it is important that one understands the type of hair loss. Mostly it is men who undergo hair transplant surgeries in order to get rid of baldness. However it is important to understand the extent of hair loss they have had and it must first be categorized.
There are different scales that are used in order to make this assertion including the Norwood Scale and the Ludwig scale. In the following lines, we shall discuss the general types of hair loss in males.
This category represents the naturally full hair that are observed in most people in their teens. There is no hair fall observed in this class.
This is the initial phase of hair loss where some hair have been lost. There is thinning in the front areas around the temple. However, it is not classified as baldness.
A person goes through deep hair loss in the temporal region. This is the start of baldness in men.
It is similar to the Class III except there is also hair loss in the crown area. This is the initial hair loss phase in the mid of the head.
There is further hair loss in the frontal areas as well as in the crown area of the head. However, there are still strong strips of hair in between the two. Normally hair loss in this state becomes fairly apparent.
The hair separating the crown and the front of the hair start dwindling. There is a further increase in hair in the front as well as the crown area.
The volume of the hair in the sides and the back of the head is still strong but the bridge of hair between the crown and front is more or less gone. There is severe balding overall.
Most of the head is bald with hair remaining mainly in the back and sides of the head. These too are somewhat lighter than the previous class.
