Matthew Mcconaughey Celebrates NYE in a Brazilian Style

Matthew McConaughey, the well known American actors and producer, marked New Year’s Eve by throwing flowers in the sea, the traditional Brazilian style to mark the turning of the year.

Wondering what made the Texas-born heartthrob welcome 2016 in a pure Brazilian style? Well it was nothing but a way to show his love and affection to his 33-year-old wife Camila Alves – the Brazilian model and television performer.

“My wife’s tradition in her country is to wear all white and go to the ocean and get little white flowers and put them in the sea. We’ve done it the last few years,”
the 46-year-old McConaughey had earlier said when asked about his New Year Eve plans.

The American actor also revealed that this was not the first time he had celebrated the NYE in Brazilian style, saying that, “We’ve done it the last few years.“

The ‘Dallas Buyers Club’ actor first met Alves almost a decade ago, in 2006. The couple got engaged on Christmas Day in 2011 before finally tying the knot on June 9, 2012. McConaughey and Alves have three kids – sons Levi Alves McConaughey, Livingston Alves McConaughey and daughter Vida Alves McConaughey.

When asked about festive season, the 46-year-old American star said that holidays are all about the importance of family. The entire family from all over the United States gathers to get all the kids together.

“Family. We always get together. We have family all over the United States, mainly around Texas and we switch out on who is going to go where and when,” said McConaughey.
“To get all the kids together is great, as my children’s best friends are my brother’s children. And it is time to give thanks. We stay at home and tell the stories – some of the same old stories are always told. That’s always been the most important tradition, to have my family together,” he went on to add.

The American actor, best known for movies “The Lincoln Lawyer” and “How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days” remained in the spotlight a couple of years ago, not only for winning the Oscar but also for his apparent hair loss and subsequent hair regrowth. If you compare McConaughey’s latest pictures with those taken in late 90s you will notice a significant difference in his hair line. The Texas native was balding fast in the late 90s, with a prominent recession in hairline.
