Use Cool Water

During summers, ensure that you never wash your hair with warm water as it tends to damage hair by stripping them of their natural oils and drying them. Even during the winters, it is best to avoid warm water for washing hair.

Moisture Replacement

It is imperative to replace moisture in hair during the summers to ensure they remain healthy. After you shampoo your hair, you can use a good quality conditioner or a hydrating mask and wash it after the recommended time. This will allow the hair to take the essential nutrients for their health.

No Left Overs

It is pretty tempting to leave a bit of conditioner in the hair to keep them soft through the day. Bad idea folks! Some of these products actually react badly with sunlight and excessive heat. So after applying conditioners, be sure to rinse your hair thoroughly and ensure nothing is left behind.

Treat the Right Area

At times conditioning the entire hair can cause trouble. Often the roots have the required moisture level. So it is best to condition the part of the hair that are really dry, usually the lower half.

Say no to Tools

While you are treating your damaged hair, stop putting them through the various styling processes of blow drying, flat ironing, dying and the like. It is best to let them be as they recover.

Know Your Vitamins

There are number of vitamins and minerals which help the hair and after a tough summer. These may be exactly what the doctor ordered. Some of the more useful names include Vitamin C, E, A, Niacin, Biotin and Zinc.

Trim Split Ends

Trimming of split ends is the best solution for treating the problem. Be sure to do it after the summer so that the hair are able to get back into a healthier shape.
