Using Yoga Exercise to Stop Hair Loss?

hair loss treatments

Hair loss is one of the most common and the most talked about cosmetic conditions that both men and women suffer from. Women particularly are more concerned about their hair health and take hair loss as loss of their feminism, and they should, as a thick head of hair is considered as a woman’s pride. Something that they flaunt! If you also feel the thickness of your mane is decreasing, it is probably high time to pay some serious attention. There are numerous medical treatments – from oral and topical medications to injectables to hair transplant surgeries – to help you combat hair loss and restore a fuller head of hair. But why go for these costly treatments when you can achieve the desired results with some simple yoga poses.

Here we will explain how you can use yoga exercises to stop hair loss.

  1. Balayam Yoga (Rubbing Nails):

This yoga asana is simple and highly effective in releasing stress and stimulating hair growth. You can perform this yoga either sitting or standing. Curl fingers of your both hands inwards, towards the palms and bring nails in contact with each other – leaving thumbnails out. Start rubbing your nails, initially slowly and then vigorously. Keep rubbing nails continuously for 4 to 6 minutes.

  1. Uttanasana (Stand Forward Bend Pose):

This yoga exercise involves bending head forward, below your heart, as much as you can. Hanging head below heart’s level ensures efficient blood circulation in the scalp, resulting in healthy hair growth. Inhale deeply while standing straight. Now as you exhale, lift your hands and bend forward until your fingers touch the floor. If possible, touch the floor properly with your hands or bring the hands behind your heels. Stay in this position for a minute or two with normal breathing. As you plan to come out of Uttanasana, inhale deeply and then stand back straight gradually.

  1. Sasangasana (Rabbit Pose):

This asana involves keeping your crown area on the ground for some time. This allows proper blood circulation to the scalp. Besides that, it helps relieve stress and anxiety, one of the common causes of hair loss. Stand straight with your legs joined together. Sit on the floor with your knees bended forward and hips on your heels. Now hold your heels with your hands. Bend forward to place the crown of your head on the floor. Inhale slowly and lift your hips up until your thighs are straight. Hold this position for 5 deep breaths before you exhale and unroll yourself gradually. Relax and repeat at least 5 times.

It is obvious from these exercises that adopting asanas in yoga not only helps prevent hair loss but also triggers healthy hair growth by strengthening affected hair follicles through efficient blood supply.
