Baldness is a severe form of hair loss, a very common hair problem faced by both men and women. But the latter are lucky enough to have diffused hair thinning all over the scalp – courtesy the composition of their genes. This is why women rarely suffer from baldness. However, if not treated in time, severe hair loss in women can also transform into baldness.

That said, no matter whether you are a man or woman suffering from baldness, here are 5 home remedies for baldness that you can try to control and even reverse hair loss. Try them and see your hair growing back.

  1. Olive Oil hair pack

Olive oil is just amazing for all hair issues, including dandruff, dry and itchy scalp, damaged hair, split ends, hair loss, and baldness. Regular application of olive oil not only helps control hair loss but also regrow new hairs to fill any bald patches. To prepare an olive oil hair pack at home, take enough olive oil in a microwave-safe bowl and warm it slightly for a minute or two. Then add one teaspoon cinnamon powder and 2-3 tablespoons of honey into it and mix well. Apply the mixture thoroughly over your scalp and hair. leave it on for half an hour and then rinse off with a mild shampoo and cold water. For best results, repeat this twice or thrice a week.

  1. Fenugreek paste:

Fenugreek is a common herb used as food in Asia. However, it has numerous health benefits as well, ranging from skin rejuvenation to breast augmentation to hair growth. Fenugreek seeds especially are rich in a hormone necessary for hair growth. The high content of nicotine and protein present in fenugreek seeds make them ideal for strengthening hair shafts. Take two tablespoons of fenugreek seeds and soak them for 30 to 45 minutes in just enough water. Grind the seeds with the water to obtain a smooth paste. Apply the paste on bald patches and leave it on for a couple of hours. Wash your hair as usual with a mild shampoo and pat dry. To get rid of bald patches quickly and enhance hair growth, repeat this two to three times a week.

  1. Castor oil hot treatment:

Castor oil is the best amongst all when it comes to hair health. It contains proteins, minerals, and vitamin E; all of them are necessary for healthy hair growth. Also, its anti-fungal, anti-bacterial, and anti-inflammatory properties make it an ideal home remedy for dandruff and itchy scalp. Take castor oil in a microwave-safe bowl and heat it for two minutes. Apply this hot oil on the scalp and hair shafts. Massage for 5 to 7 minutes and then cover your head and hair with a shower cap. This will help absorb maximum castor oil. Leave it on overnight or at least 2 to 3 hours and then wash thoroughly with mild shampoo under running water. Repeat every week for the best results. This hot oil treatment will strengthen hair follicles, encourage hair growth, and make hair shafts soft, silky, and healthy.

  1. Aloe Vera gel:

Aloe vera is rich in minerals and vitamins essential for hair growth. It effectively treats hair loss caused by fungal infection or due to miniaturization of hair follicles. It helps open up the clogged pores in the scalp to trigger hair regrowth. Its antiseptic properties make it ideal for fungal infections, like dandruff, dry, damaged, and itchy scalp. Take aloe vera leaf and peel it to get the gel. Apply this gel directly to the scalp and gently massage for 5 to 7 minutes. Let it sit for a few hours – better overnight – and then wash off with lukewarm water. Repeat this remedy three to four times a week to grow hair in bald patches.

  1. Onion Juice:

For centuries people have been using onions to turn grey hairs into black. But onion juice can do a lot more than just treating grey hair; it can enhance hair growth and regrow hair in bald patches. Sulfur in onion juice cleanses the scalp and makes hair follicles healthier, thus promoting healthy hair growth. Take one medium-sized onion and peel off its outermost layer. Grate the onion or finely chop it to extract its juice. Place the grated or chopped onion in a clean cloth and squeeze it hard to separate the juice from the pulp. Apply this juice onto the scalp. Massage your scalp gently for a few minutes. Wait for 20 to 25 minutes and then rinse off with a mild shampoo and cold water. Repeat at least once a week for a couple of months to see any improvement.

There are numerous baldness treatments available in the market, but they are either very expensive or bring with them a host of unwanted side effects. If you want to save your money and avoid the health risks that come with fake baldness treatments, try these natural remedies, and enjoy a thicker and fuller head of hair.
