Protein is found in sea food, lentils, chicken, beef and eggs. Ensuring its regular intake in the required quantities can help your hair in staying healthy.


These are found in a number of foods as well as in form of supplements. All vitamins are important for the health of hair. However, Vitamin C and Biotin, a B-Vitamin, are very important. These are found citrus fruits, spinach, eggs, berries, fish and in some vegetables. You can also make use of multi vitamin supplements available in pharmacies.

Hormonal Balance

Hormonal misbalance can adversely affect hair. Androgenic Alopecia, the root cause of hair loss is caused due to the excess of Dihydrotestosterone (DHT), a male hormone which is also found in women in small quantities. Seeing your doctor and ensuring that your hormonal levels remain normal is very important in ensuring a healthy scalp.

Use Oils

Oils have been traditionally used for keeping hair healthy. Olive oil, coconut oil and almond oil all work well. You can massage the scalp with small quantities of these oils and wash them away later on for great hair.

Vinegar Wash

Take a tablespoon of vinegar with two to three cups of water and wash your hair with the solution. Then shampoo to get rid of the residue and you will get fantastic hair.

UV Protection

Like skin, there are ultra violet protection products for hair as well. Ensure that you use them before leaving for outdoors on a bright sunny day.

Hair Masks

For people spending a lot of time in the outdoors, a hair mask can rejuvenate the hair at the end of the day to ensure that the damage done during the day is reversed.
