How your Emotions could be Encouraging Hair loss

stress-and-hair-loss

I think if anyone is given a choice regarding whether they would want to keep a fuller head of hair or go bald, no one would choose the latter. Hair loss does not only damage your looks but also damages your emotional health. It is mostly due to stigma associated with hair loss and the concept that bald is not beautiful. From Disney princesses to prince charming, everyone is blessed with a fuller, thicker hair. This makes going bald a bad experience. This fact alone makes people hunt down surgical and non surgical hair transplant in Dubai.

It is more mental than physical

Doctors and surgeons recognize hair loss as a physical problem and treat the physical attributes of hair loss in a great manner. However, they ignore the emotional aspect of hair fall which affects a patient immensely. Hair loss ages both men and women. A person with no hair or thin hair looks years beyond his/her age. That’s why many people associate baldness as the end of their youth. It makes them frustrated and takes extreme measures.  A study reveals that man with bald head is far more concerned about their physical appearance than men who experience minimal thinning.

Women and hair loss

Another study in the year 1920 revealed that women tend to experience a greater motional set back than men while experiencing hair fall and baldness. It is so because in one way society accepts a bald man but not bald women. Many celebrities have gone bald by choice. This makes them more attractive and confident.

Physical attractiveness is one aspect of self esteem and confidence. People relate hair loss to personal attractiveness and fear of not looking up to the mark in the eyes of others, retaining the physical standards.  For women, it comes increasingly difficult to adapt to their current situation of baldness.  As, people associate hair with youth and attractiveness. As women, we spend a lot of time, energy and money on our hair. They color it, cut it, and style it according to their mood and occasion. Losing hair is a more traumatic experience for women than men. Hence, the setback is quiet intense.

How to cope with it?

These are a couple of ways men and women alike can get hold of the situation.

  • Initially visit a psychologist. It is as important as visiting a hair specialist for discussing whether surgical or non surgical hair transplant is the right choice for you. Discuss your concerns with a psychologist or a therapist.
  • Get a friend or a family member to support you throughout the procedure until you get a hair transplant surgery or a non surgical hair transplant in Dubai
  • Divert your attention instead of dwelling over hair loss. Go and buy yourself a couple of stylish outfits. Get a punk look. Experiment with your make up if you are a woman and experiment with beard styles if you are a man. It will give you a new sense of style and enjoy your baldness in the meanwhile.
  • Last but not the least; realize that your hair is a part of you but not your entire identity. Accept and love yourself no matter what, with or without hair.
