A hair transplant surgery is a complicated process if you know what exactly is going to happen to your scalp. During the Follicular Unit Extraction, the process becomes quite complicated to say the least.
During your operation, your scalp receives a local anaesthesia so that you do not get to feel any pain. After that, the doctor extract follicular units from the donor side; an area on your scalp which is expected to grow back hair. Then these units are planted back into the areas where you are experiencing baldness. This means that the doctor will cut through your scalp again in order to put those units back in your scalp so that the bald area can start growing hair again.
With so many needles and knives used on your head, it is obvious that you must take care of your scalp. The doctors never advise you to start exercising the very next day. In fact, you need to make amends to your everyday exercises as well.
For instance, let’s take a look at the certain things that you do in normal routine, and how you should avoid it.
At first, all weight lifting above your shoulders is strictly prohibited. Therefore, if you have been going to the gym, or you want to lift any weight above your shoulders, you are not allowed to do so.
Secondly, you are not allowed to tilt your head in any direction except keeping it straight. Of course, sleeping is something that will require you to tilt your head, but in other situations you must avoid it. For the first three days, if something falls on the ground, it is advised that rather than bending your waist, you first bend your knees, sit down and then pick things up.
After the first three days, you are only advised to walk, and not even jog. Light exercise like jogging is only allowed after two weeks. All strenuous activities are strictly prohibited for at least a month, or else you will end up putting serious strain on your scars.
Many patients ask professionals about swimming and whether it is allowed; well, it is not. For at least ten days you are not allowed to go to swimming as it will also end up putting a strain on your scars.
